The Nigeria Model United Nations Society (NigMUNS), a not-for-profit organization, was established in 2004 and registered in 2006 under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. It prides itself as an organization committed to educating the Nigerian Youth into knowledgeable and disciplined leaders.

The Nigerian International Secondary School Model United Nations (NISSMUN) and Nigerian International Model United Nations (NIGIMUN) are 5-day Conferences aimed at engaging youth in the discussion of important world issues and educating thm about the work of the United Nations and its Multilateral agencies.

The Students carry out research on relevant topics, in relation to their assigned countries, which they present at the simulated sittings of the UN arms and committees. The learning experience of the delegates unfold as they before, during and after the conference with delegates acquiring leadership, public speaking and communication skills as well as gaining understanding of aspects of diplomacy, International relations, Conflict Resolution and Cultural Respect/ Tolerance.

NigMUNS is run by the Secretariat Staff, guided by the General Staff and Overseen by a Board of Trustees made up of distinguished individuals with proven intergrity and distinction in their various fields of core competence.
