Welcome!
I would like to express a warm welcome to all our visitors and friends on behalf of the Nigeria Model United Nations Society.
The dust has settled since NISSMUN 2009 in October, but not with the excitement created by the visit of Her Excellency, Hajiya Turai Umaru Yar’adua, First Lady of the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the conference. Her speech made a positive impact on the students as she challenged them to strive for the best despite their circumstances in life. She motivated the students to set higher goals and reach for bigger dreams. I have to confess that one cannot be around Hajia Umaru Yar’adua without being struck by her humility. I am yet to recover from the shock of that rare privilege of sitting beside her at the event.
Our organization has truly come a long way since 2005 when it started her NISSMUN and NIGIMUN conferences for students in secondary and tertiary institutions respectively. You cannot imagine how many emails, phone calls and letters that we have received from students, parents and school administrators commending our activities over the years.
