It is with great excitement and deep pride that I welcome you to the 20th Anniversary of the Nigerian International Secondary Schools Model United Nations (NISSMUN) — a milestone event taking place this October 2025!
For two decades, NISSMUN has stood as a beacon of youth leadership, diplomacy, and action. This year, we come together not only to celebrate our journey so far, but to take bold steps into the future with the theme: “Enhancing Youth Financial Literacy to Reduce Mistrust and Social Unrest.” At a time when global challenges continue to evolve, our theme invites us to explore real solutions that can empower young people to build stable, inclusive societies through economic knowledge and action.
NISSMUN 2025 promises to be an unforgettable experience — one that meets the expectations of every participant and inspires even more.
In our committee sessions, delegates will dive deep into pressing global and regional issues, debate passionately, draft resolutions, and negotiate with skill — sharpening your leadership, critical thinking, and diplomatic abilities.
The plenary assembly will bring all delegates together on one grand stage, where resolutions will be debated and refined, and where your voice will contribute to shaping decisions that reflect the spirit of youth-driven change.
And of course, our Cultural Night will be a vibrant celebration of our shared heritage and diversity — a beautiful evening filled with music, dance, traditional wear, and the colors of Africa’s rich culture.
We will close with the prestigious Awards Gala, an inspiring night where outstanding delegates, committees, and schools will be honored for their excellence, creativity, and dedication to diplomacy. It will be a night to remember — one that reflects your hard work, commitment, and growth throughout the conference.
As your Secretary-General, I assure you that this 20th Anniversary Conference has been thoughtfully planned to meet and exceed your expectations.
