Welcome to the NISSMUN 2026 homepage, and we’re truly excited to have you here. Whether you’re a delegate, parent, teacher, partner, or simply visiting, your presence means a lot to us, and we are glad you are part of this journey.

As President of the General Assembly, I extend a warm welcome to our delegates, supportive parents, dedicated teachers, valued partners, and all our guests. Your interest in NISSMUN 2026 reflects a shared belief in raising informed, responsible, and forward-thinking young leaders. This year’s theme, “Bridging the Youth and Government Divide in the Age of Misinformation,” highlights a real and growing challenge—the widening gap between young people and institutions of governance, often shaped by the spread of inaccurate or misleading information.

At NISSMUN 2026, delegates are expected to approach this challenge with diligence, integrity, and purpose. In committee sessions, you will engage in well-researched and evidence-based debates, represent your assigned countries effectively, and respect diverse perspectives. Collaboration, critical thinking, and diplomacy will be essential as you work together to develop practical and innovative resolutions.

During plenary sessions, you will present, defend, and negotiate your resolutions before the larger assembly. This will require confidence, clarity, and the ability to respond thoughtfully to questions and amendments. Throughout the conference, all delegates are expected to uphold high standards of decorum, professionalism, and mutual respect.

As you take part in this journey, remember that NISSMUN is more than a simulation—it is an opportunity to find your voice, refine your ideas, and contribute meaningfully to important global conversations. We encourage you to fully embrace the experience, build lasting connections, and leave inspired to bridge divides, promote understanding, and stand for truth in today’s complex information landscape.

Welcome once again, and we look forward to an engaging and impactful conference.

David Terhemen
President of the General Assembly, NISSMUN 2026
