NISSMUN 2017 is here!
I want to say a big thank you to all our delegates from last year’s conference. You made the conference so memorable and productive. I also would like to thank my parents, family and friends for their immense support, and all my wonderful teachers at Premiere Academy Lugbe, Abuja.
The NISSMUN Conference is always an interesting interactive platform where thousands of students meet to deliberate on global issues, and this year is no different.
We have a very engaging theme for NISSMUN 2017: Preventing Young People from Getting Involved in Cybercrime.
This topic poses a difficult challenge; for young people, for government authorities, security agencies, organizations, and nations. Not everyone is adept with the changing landscape in today’s dynamic world of technology and the internet. This further compounds the new wave of crime sweeping the hi-tech scene.
We read every day about young people making money illegally on the internet – not by their ability to create solutions online – but by their misuse of intelligence and technology. Their success at cybercrime remains one of the strongest pull that attracts others to join.
So, it will be very interesting to bring this burning issue to the table for deliberation, negotiation, and create a set of unified strategies that can deter young people from engaging in cybercrime.
Get ready. Put your thinking caps on, think global, and be prepared to contribute significantly from the standpoint of your assigned countries. To get the best from this conference you will have to fully participate, speak up and open up yourselves to observe and learn from every process.
NISSMUN 2017 is the best place to be.
